Dyson's uniform being that of a seemingly-normal Black Guard actually makes sense; it allows him to sneak around undetected to some extent amongst Clu's forces and detect disloyalty more easily from, say, a couple of disillusioned officers since his outfit isn't customized like Tesler, Paige and Pavel.
